So fear has been weighing on your heart lately…
Have you heard all the chatter about being “fearless” and just doing what it takes to make it happen? This might sound good in theory, but convincing yourself that you’re fearless and taking action while feeling uneasy is a recipe for disaster.
Fear is a part of life and as we engage in new ventures like our businesses, passion projects, or side hustles, we’ll feel even more fear than ever before.
Here are some fears I’ve experienced:
I fear that I won’t succeed in my business.
I fear that when I launch my business, no one will hire me.
I fear that people will look at me and say, “what does SHE know about living fabulous?”
I fear that I won’t meet my own high exceptions. (Which really scares the hell out of me!)
I fear that following my passion will lead to one word: BROKE!
I can go on and on about my fears in business but my point is to show you that I’m not “fearless” in terms of having no fear. There’s one thing I’ve been doing to rally up the courage to take action in the face of fear.
So how do you rally up the courage?
Let’s start by looking at my fear statements above, notice that they all start with “I” and revolve around me.
What I realized is that this journey I’m on is not ALL about me. Now of course it’s my life, my passion and my business but there’s so much more to the story.
There’s something much bigger underneath all the fears that can spark the courage I need to take action in the face of fear. I came to the big realization that…
My journey is about YOU, the people I’m meant to serve.
I know that what I stand for is far bigger than little ol’ me.
What YOU stand for is bigger than your fears.
Letting fear stop you from starting your business, launching your website, and creating solutions for people because you have fears would be selfish because it’s not about you and your fears…
It’s about the people you serve.
Whatever it is you’re doing makes a difference in someones life, don’t question this! You’re valuable to the people who need you and want what you have. If you’re an artist who makes a living transforming old furniture into something more modern, you’re making a difference in the lives of the people who buy that unique piece. That furniture you created is now a part of their lives.
When you feel fear, think about WHY you’re doing it…
Have you made it all about you or do you see the bigger picture?
Sometimes it can be difficult to step outside yourself and see the big picture, but when you do you’ll realize your true potential.
If you can make this mindset shift, you’ll have all the courage you need to take things to the next level.
Are you willing to step outside yourself and step up for the people who need you?
I know you will.
Love,
Noelle
