It’s time to zero in and cash out on your business sweet spot so that running your business becomes more enjoyable than ever.
Before I spill the beans, let’s make sure we’re on the same page (…because we’re not talking about chocolate cupcakes here!)
Your business sweet spot is where all things fun and profitable blend together.
Simply, it’s the intersection between what you absolutely love to do, what you’re actually good at and what people will happily pay for.
It’s the perfect alignment for a profitable business both financially and emotionally. I like to say it’s the secret sauce that keeps you feeling excited, engaged and alive as you work.
Sounds dreamy right?!
Well, it’s possible. And I’ll show you exactly how you can zone in and cash out on your unique sweet spot.
But first, how do you know (for sure) your sweet spot needs some TLC?
Signs Your Sweet Spot Needs a Makeover
Your business sweet spot is dying for a makeover if you:
- …feel like your business is a continuous grind instead of a deeply fulfilling part of your life
- …secretly feel uninspired, unmotivated and unfulfilled while working
- …have this nagging feeling that you’re not fulfilling your true purpose and potential
- …feel energetically low and drained while working on your business
- …constantly second-guessing your business direction
- …have too many of “those days” where you question everything in your business from what you offer to who you serve
If you said “yes, yes, yes!” to the above- it’s time for a sweet spot makeover. And you’re in the right place!
If you’re anything like me, you’ve discovered and rediscovered your sweet spot over and over again, only to realize “this isn’t it!”.
Or maybe you’ve never really nailed it!
Either way, if you’re overwhelmed and frustrated on your journey to find your unique sweet spot, you’re not alone. Finding your unique sweet spot isn’t a cakewalk. It takes constant introspection, creativity and research.
As you move through different phases of your life and business, your desire for how you want to work and add value in the world will evolve as you do.
And that’s ok.
It’s important that you constantly evaluate how your work aligns with who you are.
Having a business sweet spot is critical to your long-term success.
…the kind of long-term success that results from unstoppable momentum because you’re absolutely in love with what you’re doing.
Here’s why:
If you’re not feeling excited, engaged and alive as you work, running your business will feel like a chore. Or worse, turn into a nightmare!
And that’s not why you started it all.
You’ll find yourself feeling miserable and dread working on your business. On top of that, when stuff gets tough (because it will at times), you’ll procrastinate and compromise your results.
…not to mention sacrificing your health, happiness and sanity.
When you’re passionate about the work you do, you bring another force of energy to the table (hello enthusiasm!). And that’s when you step into your full potential and do your very best work.
Have you ever seen someone working, and you could instantly tell they just weren’t “into” it? It’s like you could feel their energy without them saying a word. Well, if you’re doing work you don’t enjoy, other people will feel it too!
The world is filled with enough unhappy and unfulfilled people who are just “making a living.”
You’ve chose to pursue a business career that’s meaningful to you. Now I’m here to help you create your business lifestyle with intention so that you’re living today instead of waiting until someday to finally start living. And part of that is working in a way that’s profitable financially and emotionally.
Now let’s create your business sweet spot.
Step 1: Zero in on strengths.
The first step is to identify, understand and leverage your unique gifts and talents.
You are the heart of your work and the best way to infuse more fun into your business is to bring all of YOU to the table.
Just think about it for a second…
You have unique stories about where you’ve been in life.
You have core values that you stand strong behind.
You have a personality that only you can wear.
You have a passions that fans your flame.
You have a mission you’ll stick to until the end.
You have a voice and a message that matters.
You have natural skills, strengths and talents that others value and will pay for.
To zero in on your natural strengths, ask yourself these question:
- What do others constantly praise you for?
- What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
- What activities energize you?
- What comes ridiculously easy to you?
- What makes you feel like you’re making a contribution?
- If you had an opportunity to teach 1,000 new people something, what would it be?
- What do you enjoy doing so much that you lose track of time?
- What do you yearn to do?
- What do you get complimented on most?
- What do you do differently than everyone else?
- Who are you at your best?
You can start by answering these questions in a journal or digital notebook. Some of the questions are tough! Be sure to dig deep. There’s much more to discover when you dive deeper than what you see on the surface.
The best resource I’ve found to help zero in on your natural skills and talents is the StrengthsFinder test. Even if you’ve already taken it, it’s worth taking it again because as you gain experience in the world, you’ll gain new strengths.
Taking this single test changed the direction of my entire business a few years ago. I don’t know where I’d be today without the valuable information I gained from taking the test.
Step 2: Zero in on opportunities in the marketplace.
The second step is to brainstorm hidden opportunities in the marketplace that you can fulfill given your strengths.
To cash out on your business sweet spot, ask yourself these question:
- Who can you serve with your natural skills?
- How can you add value to people’s lives?
- What does your target market need?
- What product can you create that gives you the highest revenue, desired results and personal satisfaction?
- What does your ideal customer desperately need and want most?
You can use these questions to find opportunities in the marketplace and create products that both serve you financially and emotionally.
Step 3: Cash Out
The next step is to create a profitable product around what you love to do, your natural strength and what people will actually pay for.
Your business sweet spot is not solely based on external factors like identifying a problem, providing a solution and profitability.
It’s also takes into account internal factors such as your passions, interests, strengths, skills and natural talents.
Let’s take action!
- Create just ONE new profitable product or tweak an existing offer that your ideal customer wants and that also aligns with your natural skills and talents.
This is the perfect time to eliminate what’s draining your energy in your business and replace it with what excites you.
