So you’ve been growing your business like CRAZY and practically have no life.
I get it. I’ve been there too.
At first the hustle feels good but after a while it starts to take it’s toll on your entire life.
When you’re extremely passionate about the work you do, it’s normal for your life to become what most people call “imbalanced”.
The Beauty of Imbalance
I love this quote:
“Everything worth fighting for unbalances your life.”
– Alain de Botton
This feeling of imbalance is normal and it’s ok to embrace it when you’re in the zone.
When you’re on a mission to spark change in the world and you’re working towards a cause bigger than yourself, it’s easy for your life to be consumed by your work.
However, there is a such thing as being TOO focused on your work.
So how do you know when you’re too focused on your work?
You know it’s time to pull back when you feel the need to nurture other parts of your life.
If you’ve been feeling the need to refocus on other meaningful parts of your life- it’s time we take back control of your life.
Now when it comes to being super ambitious and goal oriented, I’m a huge advocate of staying focused and getting results. When we laser focus on just one thing, it helps us progress even faster.
However, there comes a time when having TOO much focus can take a toll on other important parts of your life. Then before you know it, everything feels like it’s spinning out of control!
You start feeling like things aren’t aligned with who we are and what we truly desire.
Today, let’s shift your focus towards creating space for what you truly value and start living today!
When you’re working hard on one thing, your business, time just seems to fly. You start to develop a habit of doing your day-to-day operations and before you know it, it’s time for bed.
In the process of working, what’s truly important tends to slips off the radar. It might kind of feel like the wheels just fell off the wagon and you didn’t even notice the warning signs because you were so “busy” with work.
One of the reasons you may work, work and work non-stop is because you feel that you can’t enjoy yourself until [fill in your condition here].
I want you to know that you can…
Starting living NOW.
You don’t have to wait until you’ve achieved X, Y, and Z.
When you’re on the grind for months at a time focused on that one goal, you tend to put everything else on the back burner, even parts of your life that you value.
You become so focused on creating specific results for your business that you can easily neglect your personal goals and other aspirations that make you whole and complete. Neglecting them for too long, can leave you feeling like things are getting out of control.
You can start living today!
Maybe you’d like to start working out more often, putting more nutritious foods in your body, meditating, spending quality time with family and friends, going on a mini vacation, painting, shopping, dancing, or even going to more events!
Whatever it is that makes your heart sing, start doing it NOW because you deserve to feel good NOW.
Define a Personal Goal
Setting a personal goal that has nothing to do with your business can help you focus on what’s important to you.
Creating goals that stretch far beyond your work-life is a great way to take back control of your life. You can start by creating a personal goal and doing things daily that make you feel good.
The key here is to rework your daily routine so there’s space to take small action steps towards your personal goals. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with what’s most important to you.
Write down one personal life goal and refer to it often.
Writing it down and putting it somewhere you see it daily will remind you that it’s not always about the work you do, it’s about enjoying your life and the journey.
Creating your definition of success takes time and you’ll need internal motivation sparked by your personal goals to keep you going!
Your time is NOW. Do something today that your future self will thank you for!
Hope you enjoyed this sweet reminder,
Noelle
P.S. Don’t forget to add date by that personal goal because a goal without a deadline is just a dream!
