Do you want to start something new but don’t feel ready?
Have you noticed that when it’s time to take the very next step, there’s just something holding you back?
Maybe you want to finally start a business doing work you love, passion project that matters or launch a new product or service to make more money.
Or maybe you want to make a big change or transition in your life! For example, moving to a new city, starting a whole new way of eating or finally walking away from that relationship that isn’t serving you anymore!
Whatever it is that you want to start, when it’s time to take action, you say to yourself, “It’s just not the right time.”
And if you’re honest with yourself, it might secretly give you relief because it feels like a valid excuse for not taking action right now.
How do I know?! Well, because I’ve been there too!
I’ve learned that when you feel resistance to take action on something you know you need to do, it’s because you’re waiting for something to happen first before you start.
I’ve experienced this too many times to count and so have many others entrepreneurs I know.
When I think back to when I first started my online business there were many different things that I dragged my feet on.
One of the things that I hesitated on was claiming my expertise as a business lifestyle strategist! I dealt with what many people call “imposter syndrome.”
I felt like a fraud and thought to myself, “Who am I to teach people how to live a fabulous life? What makes me qualified to do this work?”
And for a long time it stopped me from doing the work I was meant to do in the world. Eventually, I got over it and conquered my worst enemy living between my two ears. It wasn’t easy that’s for sure!
I felt the same resistance to get started right before launching my website, sending my first newsletter, hiring my creative director for my brand, investing thousand of dollars on business coaching, filming my first episode of Bloom TV and even launching my signature program, Business for Living Fabulous.
If you’re resisting doing what you know you need to do to take your business and life to the next level, I have a question for you.
What are you really waiting for?
I want you to think about this one for a second!
And if you’re not quite sure, I’ve got an idea of what could be going on and the exact solution to help you get started now.
As I mentioned a bit earlier, you’re waiting for something to happen first before you’re ready to take action…
And I’m here to tell you that what you’re waiting for may never come.
The “THING” you’ve been waiting for is…
That’s right. You’ve been waiting for permission to finally do what you want to do.
If you’ve been stuck in the same place for weeks, months or even years because you haven’t felt ready to take the next step, it’s time to move forward!
THIS is the moment you’ve been waiting for. And I’m here to tell you that…
You are more than good enough.
You are qualified.
You are worthy.
You are ready.
You can start right now.
Start whatever it is that you’ve been wanting to start. Start where you are now, with what you have. Start even if you have fears, self-doubt, and uncertainty.
There’s never a “perfect” time. You may never feel completely ready, most of us never do! But starting before you feel ready will open up opportunities for amazing things to happen in your business and life.
With this said, keep in mind that you DO NOT need external validation from me or anyone else to get started.
You can’t wait for validation outside yourself because the truth is that the validation you seek may never come from who you want, in the way you want it. I’ve learned this the hard way…
I’ve waited for my family, friends and mentors that I admire to give me permission to go for it. And you know what, I never got it in the way I wanted it.
If I would have waited for them to give me validation and permission, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Only you have the power to move things forward, no one else!
If you’re in this situation now, don’t beat yourself up. Instead, get excited about your awareness and use it to your advantage.
Here’s something you can do…
Write yourself a permission slip to do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do. Seriously.
You’re ready the moment you say you are. You just have to decide.
P.S. Once you commit to finally starting, write down the very first step you need to take to put your plan into action. Don’t get overwhelmed with the entire process, just start with the very first step and do it. It’s best to break down your big goal, project or transformation into small, actionable steps. Then start working.
You got this!
